Inspired by the recent merger of the two titans in the furniture industry, The Cap Trick Chair fuses the imaginations of Frank Gehry with Charles and Ray Eames. The chair features a wooden basket like character on the classic metal rod Eiffel design. Motivated by structure and beautiful details, this design transcends the style and exploration of the company’s new chapter, Herman Miller + Knoll.
Inspired by the work of Jeff Koons and Jason Feeney, The Eames Anatomy is a homage to modern pop and contemporary artists who have made timeless recognizable Icons, much like the Eames Elephant. Fusing mid-century furniture design and contemporary art, this sculpture asks the question, what is an Eames Elephant really comprised of? Thinking about how our bodies work, we can only imagine and relate to the inner workings of this animal that has brought so much warmth and joy to designers' hearts.
In collaboration with Tom Miles Studio, this piece resembles the relationship between art and design, in the form of functional sculpture. The piece is an expression of our love for furniture design and a tribute to the Urban space man, Marc Newson.
